Uninformed #1 – The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window and Windfall
Uninformed is the part of the show where we have to guess what a TV show/Movie/Book is based on the name and poster/cover alone. In Episode 5, Dylan chose the Netflix TV Show ‘The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window’. Kirsty chose a Netflix movie ‘Windfall’ for Dylan.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (Kirsty’s Guess)
It’s about a girl across the street from the house of the girl in the window. When it starts raining outside, she gets pissed. Then she sits in the house all day and gets drunk, but only specifically when it rains outside. When it doesn’t rain outside, she has other hobbies like planting begonias.
The first episode will set the tone for the whole show, of course. It’s going to be raining and she’s going to get drunk and get up to other antics. She’s going to get drunk and stare at someone in the window. It sounds as if it’s going to be some sort of murder-y thing. So she’s going to see something that happens in the window across the street while it’s raining and she’s having a drink.
Then it’s going to be as if it never happened and then she’s going to think OMG did that actually happen? Then there’s going to be other weird crazy shit that happens. She’s going to be like, OMG! It DID happen, and then chaos is going to ensue. They’re going to know that she knows, and she’s going to be at risk, and then she might die. It’s going to be tense, with a bit of comedy in, but a bit more serious and more of a thriller.
Windfall (Dylan’s Guess)
Windfall is going to be a serious emotional film. It’s going to be about 3 people who live together: a father a daughter and a brother who all live on a farm. Their farm and farmhouse get destroyed by the wind. They then need to fend for themselves and rebuild and get help from society. They launch a GoFundMe page in a bid to try and get some money together to get sorted and back on their feet. Everyone donates to the GoFundMe page. It’s just a lovely, emotional story about people whose house falls down. It grows into this lovely magical tale and eventually they pick themselves back up. Ultimately, they end up living happily ever after in an amazing mansion in the middle of Windy city with no wind.
